And the journey begins...
From as far back as I can remember, I’ve always been drawn to the artistic and creative. At just 7 years old, my passion for drawing and painting was already a defining part of me. My artworks frequently graced the school’s art bulletin board, and some even made their way into competitions. These moments gave me a much-needed confidence boost, as I was far from the outgoing, sporty type. Instead, I was a quiet wallflower, blending into the background. The rare moments I gained attention were during two specific times of the year: Valentine’s Day and the end-of-year season. These occasions saw me inundated with requests from schoolmates. They’d ask me to design hand-drawn Valentine’s cards or to adorn their autograph books with intricate calligraphy and decorative flourishes. Amusingly, some of these requests came from people I barely knew, beyond the fact that they were school mates. The positive feedback I received from these experiences affirmed what I’d always known deep down: my life’s path would centre on creativity. And so, the journey began.
A relentless pursuit.
My work has always demanded a diverse range of skills—copywriting, art direction, technical expertise, and creative problem-solving—often all at once. Over the years, I’ve found myself wearing many hats, delving into roles that go far beyond the traditional boundaries of graphic design. I’ve dabbled in marketing strategy, project management, branding consultancy, and even event planning. Yet, no matter how many professions I explore or responsibilities I take on, my creative DNA always remains rooted in graphic design. This multidisciplinary approach fuels my relentless pursuit of excellence, allowing me to bring unique perspectives and solutions to every project. Each challenge feels like a puzzle, and I thrive on reaching into my toolbox—filled with diverse experiences and skills—to make the pieces fit. There’s an unparalleled sense of satisfaction in creating something that not only works but inspires, blending creativity and practicality in equal measure. For me, it’s not just a career; it’s a craft, a calling, and a continuous journey of growth.
My Solace.
Cooking is another passion of mine, one I liken to the art of design. Choosing the right ingredients, blending them in just the right proportions, and labouring over the stove feels like a creative process in its own right. Cooking provides me with a therapeutic escape, a blissful rhythm amid life’s busyness. Whenever possible, I make time to cook for my loved ones and colleagues. Seeing them savour and enjoy the meals I’ve prepared fills me with the same joy I feel when my designs are appreciated and put to good use.
